OCA Global develops the “Green Store” certification mark, the sustainability assessment system for the Fnac store network in Spain.

23.05.2024

Fnac, Europe's leading distributor of technology and cultural products, has entrusted OCA Global with the development of an assessment and verification system to measure sustainability and commitment to the environment in its network of stores and warehouses. Based on requirements and principles established in international standards such as ISO 17029 or ISO 14065 and on the FNAC DARTY group's own sustainability strategy, this certification recognizes compliance with certain aspects related to good practices in the company in terms of sustainability.

This initiative measures the degree of implementation of the group's ESG policies within the company, as well as allowing the quantification and comparison of the performance of the different centers. The awarding of this certificate recognizes Fnac's commitment to sustainable consumption, human capital, business ethics, climate ambition and the dissemination of culture both locally and universally, key pillars of the FNAC DARTY group.

The evaluation system put in place by OCA Global takes into account a total of sixty-three indicators ranging from energy savings or waste and emissions management, to support for culture or local non-profit associations committed to social or environmental issues. To evaluate these indicators, data were collected in Fnac's stores in Spain, the logistics center and its headquarters.

So far, eight stores have been awarded the “Green Store” seal and thirty stores have already exceeded half of the requirements or indicators set out in the evaluation scheme, without achieving this result.

OCA Global has been responsible for guaranteeing the technical quality of the project, as well as the impartiality of the evaluation process and the reliability of the results.
