Energy efficiency management system for the Pehuenche hydroelectric power plant
The Consulting and Environment Division of OCA Global Chile has been awarded the contract to implement an energy efficiency management system for ENEL's Pehuenche hydroelectric plant.
The Pehuenche hydroelectric plant is an electricity generation company connected to the National Electric System (SEN). It owns and operates three hydroelectric plants located in the central south of the country, in the hydrological basin of the Maule River, with an installed capacity of 699 MW.
Its first plant, Pehuenche, currently the second-largest hydraulic generation plant in the Chilean electricity system, began operations in 1991 with an installed capacity of 570 MW. At the end of 1993, its Curillinque plant, with an installed capacity of 89 MW, began operating, and in August 1997, its Loma Alta plant, with an installed capacity of 40 MW.
The contract aims to implement and support obtaining the certification of an energy management system for the Pehuenche hydroelectric power plant based on the ISO 50001 standard.
