OCA GLOBAL COLOMBIA PERFORMS INSPECTIONS AND INFRASTRUCTURE SURVEY WITH LIDAR TECHNOLOGY

OCA Global Colombia has been selected to execute an innovative contract: "Construction of 2D and 3D Base Layers of digital twin of Enel Codensa S.A. ESP", LiDAR 360 Mobile Solution Service, a project with a duration of 36 months.

LiDAR (Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging) is a technology that allows measuring distances between a sensor and an object, calculated by the go and return ratio of the sensor by establishing a distance to generate a georeferenced. 

To do this, two latest pieces of equipment are used: Leica Pegasus: Two Ultimate (MMS) and Leica Pegasus: Backpack (MMS). The first is used in land, river and rail applications; while the second one is used by means of a backpack-type system, that is, a person carries the equipment  behind his back for the data capture. This information capture is related by a SLAM algorithm, which looks for counterpart points in the cloud in real time and, in this way, generates a map and is located inside it, as autonomous vehicles do. 

Obtaining this innovative contract, OCA Global is positioned as a leading company in the use of this technology in Colombia, for the information survey through MMS, guaranteeing a very complete capture of data and arriving at centimetric precision, no matter the conditions or the access difficulties on the ground.
