OCA Global covers the Final Evaluation of the EC-Link project

OCA Global was selected to prepare the Final Evaluation of the Europe-China Eco-Cities Link (EC-LINK), founded by the European Commission (EC).

EC-LINK covers 7 main sectors: 

• Compact urban development
• Green buildings
• Green transport
• Water managemen
• Solid waste management
• Clean energy
• Municipal finance. 

The main goal is to build bridges between Europe and China to create a stronger relationship in order to face the challenges of building sustainable municipalities. Sharing and partnering at the municipal level holds great potential to help address social, economic and environmental sustainability issues. China has benefited from European know-how in order to meet sustainability related goals, while Europe has integrated knowledge gained from pilot projects conducted in China.

OCA Global's team is in charge of carrying out an evaluation of the achievements, the quality and the results of the project in the context of an evolving cooperation policy with an increasing emphasis on result-oriented approaches and the contribution towards the implementation of the SDGs. The company has already started the evaluation of EC-LINK, which comprises 7 years of work on this project, which started in 2013.

In particular, our objectives are to provide the relevant services of the European Union, the interested stakeholders and the wider public with an overall independent assessment of the past performance of the EC-LINK project, and the description of the key lessons learned, conclusions and related recommendations in order to improve current and future interventions.
