Statutory inspection 28/11/2019
OCA Global in Titanic's shipyard
Last July, OCA Global finished the inspection in Harland and Wolff shipyards (Belfast, Northern Ireland).
For a year and a half, several welding inspection jobs have been conducted in the building of 18 jackets for the offshore wind farm East Anglia One, from Scottish Power and Iberdrola.
The shipyard was founded in 1861, and between 1909 and 1912, the famous passenger liner RMS Titanic, along with RMS Olympic and HMHS Britannic, was built. The three of them formed the Olympic-class ocean liners from the White Star Line shipping, which is still a benchmark in the construction of ships and offshore marine structures.
18 jackets have been built in East Anglia One, which will be attached in Suffolk's shore seabed, in the North Sea. About 102 wind turbines will be set up and will provide 714 MW of wind power.
With an investment of £2,500 million, this offshore wind farm will supply clean energy to 630,000 homes after its final commissioning in 2020.
