We support the Government of Indonesia in reaching the intended Greenhouse Gas Emission (GHG) reduction
OCA Global CTA has started the project “Technical Assistance to prepare a shelf of projects with their estimated costs for selected line ministries for achieving NDC targets in Indonesia by 2030” funded by the World Bank.
This 5-month initiative will result in a portfolio of potential projects that will help Indonesia in achieving its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets for 2030, also aligned with the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). Providing a detailed estimation of the financing needs of said project, the document aims to be a sound reference for future allocations of national budgets. Throughout the project’s implementation a stakeholder engagement approach will be taken to facilitate the right implementation of the proposed activities.
In cooperation with the Government of Indonesia’s line ministries, the Project is meant to assess the mitigation potential of activities for the most GHG emitting sectors in the country -Forest and Land Use, Energy, Agriculture, Industry and Waste- contributing to meet the NDC emission reduction targets and leading Indonesia’s transition to a net zero economy. Moreover, the adaptation potential of activities is also to be considered as for its relevance in enhancing the country’s resilience to climate change and contribution to Sustainable Development Goals.
The project was launched in April 2022 with the organization of a kick-off meeting with the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, representatives of the World Bank in Jakarta, and other key stakeholders.
