Last May, OCA Global was awarded a contract for advanced non-destructive testing using Phased Array Ultrasonics and TOFD to inspect pipelines at Zohr, the largest gas field ever found in the Mediterranean and in Egypt.
This field, located near Alexandria, was discovered by ENI -the Italian oil company- approximately one year ago. The field has a potential of 850 billion cubic meters and covers an area of almost 100 square kilometers, and could become one of the largest natural gas reserves in the world.
OCA Global is currently working with Petrojet (ENI's subcontractor) on the site, under the supervision of ENI Italy. Although the Zohr construction project is expected to take at least about 10 years, the awarded works (phase 1) would last about 2 years.
While already working on the project, opportunities are foreseen to expand the scope of services provided.
Congratulations to the OCA Global Egypt team.
