Today, Wednesday March 20, and taking advantage of the celebration of the Food Fair, OCA Global has delivered the Welfair Animal Welfare certification to the pig company Friselva.
The Welfair Animal Welfare certification is an independent seal based on the Welfare Quality and Awin protocols, approved by IRTA and NEIKER. Friselva has achieved the renewal of the certification for both its breeding and fattening pig farms, thus achieving that the production of pigs leaving the farms is fully certified in Animal Welfare. This certification includes more than 70 farms located in Catalonia (mainly in Girona).
From OCA Global we would like to congratulate Friselva because to achieve this certification it is necessary to carry out a good daily work and maintain the commitment of all workers. The certification provides consumers with the assurance that the meat products they consume come from animals that have had animal welfare during their lives. In a society that is increasingly aware of sustainability and the environment, animal welfare is a key factor when deciding which product to purchase for consumption.
The presentation of certificates was made to Àlex Casañ - CEO Grup Alimentari Carni and Ariadna Mestre - Quality Manager. The certificates were collected by Friselva, who received them from the General Manager of OCA Global Certification, David Lao, the Agri-Food Product Manager of OCA Global, Jaime Forment and the Head of Animal Welfare at OCA Global, David Fernandez.
