A few months ago, Acciona Energía began construction of the Puerto Libertad photovoltaic complex, developed in a 50/50 consortium with the company Tuto Energy in the state of Sonora (Mexico). With a nominal capacity of 317.5 MW, the photovoltaic facility will be one of the largest in the country and in Latin America, and the largest renewable project ever undertaken by Acciona Energía in the world.
Part of the complex will start generating power on the grid in the last quarter of 2018 and the entire facility will be operational in the first months of 2019.
OCA Global has been awarded the civil works laboratory contract for testing concrete, aggregates, fill and embankment materials, masonry elements, asphalt mixes and reinforcing steel.
The complex will produce 963 GWh of energy annually, equivalent to the electricity demand of 583,000 Mexican homes, and will prevent the emission of 925,443 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
