11.10.2022
During 2019 and 2020, construction work took place on Amazon's logistics center in the Sevillian town of Dos Hermanas, 14 kilometers from Seville. The center, which began operations in September 2020, has a built area equivalent to 26 football fields, almost 180,000 square meters, has a storage capacity of 25 million products and every day an average of 450,000 units are prepared, which pass through 12 kilometers of conveyor belts.
During the construction of the center, OCA Global's prevention technicians carried out various tasks, starting with the health and safety coordination of the works, promoted by the Goodman Group. Likewise, throughout the construction and up to the operations phase, they were in charge of carrying out various health and safety audits, aimed at verifying the correct application of Amazon's demanding occupational risk prevention protocols by the different contractors involved in the work.
The work was carried out in 24-hour shifts, and up to nine OCA Global prevention technicians were involved in different functions.
