Iberdrola's generation division has awarded a contract to OCA Global for quality control under the resident inspector modality during the manufacture of a hydro turbine for a period of two years.
The work will be carried out at the Andritz Hydro factory located in Chengdu, China, and once production is completed, the turbine will be transported to northern Portugal where it will be installed at the Gouvães hydroelectric power plant, which is part of the Támega project.
The Támega project involves the construction of three new hydroelectric power plants (Gouvães, Daivões and Támega) and involves an investment of 1.5 billion euros with a total installed capacity of 1,158 MW and an annual energy production of 1,760 GWh.
As for their entry into operation, Gouvães is expected to be operational in 2021, Daivões in 2022 and Alto Támega in 2023.
