Interview with Gema Sanchiz, director of R&D&I certification at OCA Global.

06.03.2024

Gema joined our team last year, bringing with her a wealth of experience in the field of certification. In this interview, we will explore the challenges and opportunities facing the industry, through Gema's unique perspective.

**Welcome, Gema! It's a pleasure to have you with us today, after six months at OCA Global, what is your assessment?

The truth is that joining such a solid company and success story as OCA Global has been quite a challenge. Of course, I have faced the challenge with great enthusiasm and with the clear and firm objectives of positioning OCA Global R&D as a benchmark in the sector.

As always, the first few months have been learning and have helped me to situate myself in multiple areas, and thus make the most appropriate decisions to give it the direction we should take.

**What is your short/medium term strategy?

To date we have focused our efforts on creating a solid base as a certification body, we have also restructured many departments and we have incorporated highly qualified staff that perfectly complements the team that was already in OCA Global. We are now a winning team that is made up of young people, but with a lot of experience in the industry.

I firmly believe that the key to our success will be the team we have created. Each and every one of them brings a unique added value.

**Where do you see OCA Global R&D in a year's time?

As one of the benchmark certification bodies in the sector. An entity that accompanies during the certification process. We currently have accreditation of deductions with more than 55 UNESCO Codes, bonuses, PERTE, DNSH, CAEs... and we are moving forward. We want to keep growing and we want more.

**Of the products in which you are accredited, what is the main bet you are making?

Our hallmark at IDI is the certification of tax deductions and bonuses for research personnel. Both schemes have agile and solid procedures that allow us to carry out the certification in very competitive times. In the specific case of allowances, it is very important to highlight that we have a very broad portfolio of auditors so we can offer our clients a very open audit schedule.

On the other hand, we are also immersed in PERTE project certifications, DNSH validations, CAEs... as I said before, we are interested in continuing to grow in the different schemes and providing a global service to all our customers.

**What is the differential value of OCA?

Undoubtedly, professionalism in our field, accumulated experience, but without ever losing closeness and trust. The companies that have already placed their trust in us know how accessible we are and the variety of solutions we are able to provide in any situation.

**Why OCA Global?

Because the sector demands fresh air and we can offer it with solvency, experience and a great desire to grow in a sector in which there is still a long way to go.
